We kick off our month long talk about Things You Can't Find On YouTube. This whole month we'll talk about the weirdest of the weird! We start off by talking about the strange stories of Dire Dogs. Across the world people have been reporting sightings of aggressive dogs the size of bears. Vic discusses reading Linda S. Godfrey book "I know what I saw" which details many of these accounts. Marcus works to convince Vic about his theory of what things cryptids might actually be, because they absolutely could exist.

TWS Episode 62 - "The Smithsonian Conspiracy"

For hundreds of years there's been reports of people finding bones of giants. However what happens to these bones? Why aren't they in museums? For as long as the stories of people discovering giant bones have been around there's also been reports of people showing up trying to get their hands on them. Many of these giant bone discovery stories end with members of the Smithsonian request them be donated to their museum. The only problem is then the bones are never seen again. 

 

Our hosts examine the theory the Smithsonian Museum has been hiding evidence of giants for years. They examine all the arguments and give their thoughts on this theory. In the late summer of 1947 the United States Air Force set out to officially begin investigating UFOs. Under the leadership of Lt. General Nathan F. Twining the newly formed Project Sign was the precursor the famous Project Blue Book and Project Grudge. The United States began officially documenting accounts of UFOs. Soviet spy planes, meteors, and other natural phenomena were often blamed for many of these reports.

However as Project Sign investigated UFO accounts some UFOs exhibits feats that defied the laws of physics and technology for aircraft of the time. This led many Project Sign scientists to believe that something extraterrestrial could be behind these accounts.
