Through out the world there are stories of magical old hags who live on the outskirts of town who prey upon unsuspecting villagers. These hags often have supernatural abilities or make dark deals with other evil beings to get them. Listen as Marcus and Vic each break down an example of these hags from around the world.
Vic discusses Jenny Greenteeth a.k.a. Wicked Jenny or Ginny Greenteeth from English folklore. A river hag who would pull children or the elderly into the water and drown them. Marcus discusses the Soucouyant from Caribbean folklore. This old hag removes her skin to change forms into a flying fireball and sneaks into people's homes to drain their blood.

Happy New Year Shades! If there is one thing Marcus and Vic love doing it's discussing the paranormal history of their hometown Evansville, IN. Joining them in the studio is author and Evansville native T. Harriman. At age 15 she started as a reporter for the Evansville Press, then the Evansville Courier. She now works as a young-adult novelist were her books pull a lot of elements from the paranormal and her book Burn This Book: The 10,000-Year Plan was just nominated for a Pulitzer.
Listen as they talk about some of paranormal stories of T. Harriman's family. They discuss why they think Evansville, IN is such a hotbed of paranormal activity. T. Harriman makes a comparison of why the Big E is a lot like the Big Easy. T. Harriman opens up about her views on the paranormal and even gives some advice to up in coming writers.

In the late 16th century the Jews of Prague were being subjected to horrific pogroms or “ethnic cleansings” at the hands of the citizens of the city. Many expected the Holy Roman Emperor King Rudolf ll to order the Jew ghetto purged completely. The spiritual leader of the community Judah Loew ben Bezalel known as The Maharal decided to take action to protect his people. Taking clay from the banks of the Vltava River he and his assistants set to work to craft an ancient Jewish construct known as a "Golem" to protect their people.
Listen as Marcus and Vic break down the ritual to create a golem and discuss whether the Golem of Prague was real. On January 21, 2017 protests and marches took place in Memphis, TN. In this mist of the political activism 23 year old Peter McIndoe held up a sign and began yelling "BIRDS AREN'T REAL". He explained that birds were exterminated by the US government between 1950-1970 and replaced with surveillance drones to spy on US citizens. Since then his movement has gained thousands of follows and they have even protested in front of Twitter headquarters in San Francisco.
The only problem, it's a 100% known fabricated conspiracy hoax. This conspiracy has become Generations Z's stress response to rising conspiracy theories and misinformation. Listen as Vic tries to guess if this theory is even possible. Marcus suspects a certain military official could be behind the whole bird extermination. The conspiracy's leader claims their conspiracy is a safe place for people to decompress from other conspiracies and misinformation out there, however our hosts put that idea to the test.

German immigrants to Maryland referred to a creature known as the "Schneller Geist" or "quick spirit" who would break objects or cause things to disappear. Over time the people of the area would report seeing a creature that would become known as The Snallgaster. A chimera, half lizard and half bird, that would stalk the skies preying upon unsuspecting victims. Returning every 20-25 years to terrorize the rural countryside this cryptid is tied more into American politics than one realizes at first glance.
Listen as our hosts discuss how this creature's history goes back further than most realize. Marcus discusses it's darker connections to American politics. We discuss if it could be a real creature or if it's possibly from another dimension. Through out human history man kind has told stories of avian creatures from another realm guiding humanity in one way or another. Many people have reported having contact with interdimensional beings known as The Blue Avians. They have been described as being eight feet tall, with a humanoid shape, with bird like features such as a beak and feathers. Normal encounters with aliens often come with traumatic encounters or sinister motives, however many who encounter The Blue Avians report these beings have nothing but benevolent motives.

Since the dawn of time several cultures around the world have reported sightings of massive birds known as "Thunderbirds". Vic drags Marcus kicking and screaming into this fascinating topic about the 2nd most commonly sighted cryptid in North America. Many stories of the Thunderbird have the creature so large it can even pick up deer or small children. Sighting range all the way from as far south as Arizona and even as far north as Alaska.
To some cultures the Thunderbird is a spiritual creature. It's seen as a herald of storms, changes in the weather, or even a sign the person will rise to great power. To others The Thunderbird is a bird of prey scooping up animals and lurking in the woods of their community. On April 26, 1986, one of the world's worst nuclear disasters occurred in the Ukrainian city of Pripyat. There was an explosion caused by a flawed reactor design at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which tossed massive amounts of radiation into the air. The city of Pripyat was evacuated, and a total of 31 people died as an immediate result of the accident itself, while as many as 500,000 were affected.
30 years later Pripyat has became a tourist attraction. The ghost town is still explored by visitors to this desolate city. Lore and legends surround the area, from ghosts, death cult like behaviors, and a strange ominous black bird that some believe to be the harbinger of disaster. Listen as our hosts break down all the legends and give their thoughts on each of these legends.

On May 27, 1962 the coal mining town of Centralia, PA started a controlled trash burn at the local dump. A few days later the town discovered the fire had gotten inside the coal mine setting fire to the coal deposits under the town. Almost 60 years later the fire is still burning under the town. After several problems with sink holes, methane leaks, and other concerns this eventually caused the government to step in the early 90s to claim the town under imminent domain.
Years later visitors to this ghost town report sightings of ghost miners, disembodied voices, and ominous feelings as they explore the area. With such a bizarre history and all the paranormal legends surrounding the town it's no wonder the town of Centralia was even the inspiration for the Silent Hill movie. Listen as our hosts break down the history of Centralia and dive into some of the more obscure legends surrounding this fascinating ghost town.
